newyear

Hello Friends!

Welcome to the new blog. Many of you probably know I am a writer and have had a blog in the past. Well, I’m back with a new one – a clean slate, if you will.
My last blog was started about six years ago as a way to continue writing on a regular basis, then I entered my career as a journalist and fulfilled my daily writing in the office.
But, now with a new year starting and a new chapter in life beginning, I wanted to get back into writing for pleasure, nothing extravagant with no pressure or deadline driving me.
I had taken about a one year hiatus from blogging and there were many reasons behind that.
Life got busy…I was preparing for our wedding which was held on March 21, 2015. Then, we took an awesome honeymoon to Disney World. THEN, we found out we were expecting our first kiddo! THEN the new Star Wars movie came out. See? Busy.
I didn’t want to overshare…I am a fairly private person; I don’t post many things on Facebook, I don’t Tweet as often as others and I am not very good at calling my friends and family on a regular basis. Heck, I even have a hard time writing Opinion pieces for work.
I was just enjoying life…being a newlywed is so fun. Everyday I get to hang out with Brice is so fun I didn’t want to do anything but hang out at home or do things together with him.
And, I was working…I love my job, I get to meet new people, learn new things and write, my favorite pastime, everyday. Sometimes I have to remind myself, “I seriously get paid to do this.”
But, now I am preparing for a new chapter as I said before. One where I do not plan to work at the office on a full-time basis so I can focus on starting our family.
I want to use this space as a place to share that transition and share all our little moments with family and friends, without oversharing on Facebook or other social media sites.
I figure by posting it on a blog, only those who want to read it will have to, instead of torturing everyone on Facebook  with pictures and status updates from a new stay-at-home mommy.
So, stick around while I share moments of faith, family and fun through photos, blog posts and more.
